One of the largest crowds was in Washington D.C. where an estimated 200,000 gathered to protest. New York City reported over 100,000 in all five boroughs. With few exceptions, the rallies were peaceful with few arrests.

Instead of the violence predicted by Trump supporters, most of the rallies had the atmosphere of a music concert. Many of the inflatable costumes, including T-Rexes, chickens, frogs, and cartoon characters created a humorous tone to the rallies.

ICE and the kidnapping and deportation of many immigrants, including U.S. citizens, were a focal point for many of the protests.

In Pueblo, the protest was peaceful and directed at the Trump administration with the exception of a man and woman carrying signs calling for the recall of District Attorney Kala Beauvais. The couple reportedly were protesting the arrest of the woman at a previous rally where she brandished a firearm. A loud argument between the couple and other protestors was broken up by a dozen or more sheriff’s deputies.
