Nearly 200 people, from babes to grannies, marched from Rawlings Library in Pueblo to the Sister Cities Plaza, across from City Hall on Monday to protest the Trump administration and the Trump/Elon coalition to dismantle the government.
Protesters shouted “THIS is what democracy looks like,” during the five block march from the Library. Once at the Plaza, a slate of speakers were welcomed with shouts. CSU-Pueblo student Bree Rodriguez Guerrero led off the speaking, getting interactive with the crowd.

Sol Sandoval, who spoke in both English and Spanish said she had to use both languages because “I don’t speak English only.” Sandoval said, “Characteristics of a good leader is someone who does not let ICE in our schools to instill fear in our children, and protects our land.”
The placards people carried spoke volumes:
Defend our Constitution!
Stop the Coup

Resist
Stop the Lying
Deport Dept. of Unelected Corrupt Hackers for Elon
No Millionaire Tax Cuts
No Dictators
Spread Resistance
The march was organized by Patricia O’Brien and the Pueblo Indivisible organization which partnered with El Movimiento Sigue in the Take Down the Statue Protests in past years. Organizers Heather Maio and Jamie Valdez were visible as was Nick Voss the new Chair of the Pueblo Democrats.

“Our current administration and other individuals are gong to do whatever they want to benefit themselves and not respect our Constitution or our rights,” O’Brien said.
