La Cucaracha News is looking for eyes and ears in the Pueblo community to help us report local news. We want to report untold stories about what public officials are doing with our tax money in city and county governments, the school districts, other educational institutions and all other tax-supported entities.
If you know something that the rest of the community should know, La Cucaracha News could be your medium. Send us a news tip, description of a story you would like to see on our website or a draft of a story you author yourself.
Are you right for La Cucaracha? Denver may forget Pueblo and we no longer have a television station in town. Pueblo used to have multiple radio stations, including a Mexican station, to inform people about community news, social events, food give aways, river clean-ups, agency fundraisers, and business services.
Pueblo once had multiple newspapers, community papers as well as a large, regional newspaper with 30 reporters on staff. Now we have a ghost of a newspaper in the Pueblo Chieftain. Kudos to the handful of reporters trying to fill the void of local news and even those on FaceBook and other social media reporting local news, but there still is a huge unmet need.
If you have news to report, we can help you get it out there through our webpage and social media outlets. When you see something that should be reported, take a picture, write a quick note and send them to lacucaracha@emspueblo.org. La Cucaracha can be broader in scope, and of support to our Pueblo community with more people writing.
